BACKGROUND
Kwahu-Aduamoaman Association of North America
was initiated in October 1994 by a group of Aduamoah citizens in New York and New Jersey who came together in the Bronx, NY to form a non-profit, social and cultural organization under the leadership of Mr. E. K. Opoku Agyemang (deceased).

The group’s objective was to bring together citizens of Kwahu-Aduamoa in New York and New Jersey metro area to form a unified body to address issues affecting the citizens and contribute to the development of Aduamoa and its villages.
Initially, meetings were held at Mr. Charles Anim’s residence in the Bronx until 1996 when it was moved to Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building, 163 West 125th Street in Manhattan, NY with about 30 members. The Association made several financial contributions towards development in Aduamoa and Suminakese, and also constructed 4 classroom school block in each town.
In 2000, our meeting attendance declined to a point that the Association could not continue
and it was dissolved. The community’s social interaction in absence of the organization, maintained
the citizens well together and in 2010, Mr. James Asare and others met and decided the
reorganization of the defunct Association.
The reorganized Association started its meetings at Mr. James Asare’s office at 1850 Grand Concourse, Bronx NY 10457. New members were registered but unfortunately, some of the old
